  HD Footage in Final Cut 5.1?

  I shot some HD footage with a JVC camera for my documentary class. I’ve been editing on my school’s computers which have Final Cut 6.0.4.

  My semester is almost up and I want to continue editing at home, but I have Final Cut 5.1. When I try to import the Quicktime files they won’t play at all, just a black screen. I’ve tried adjusting the settings to “HDV” and all, but it doesn’t work.

  I thought maybe I just need to try to capture it again onto my computer. Can Final Cut 5.1 work with HD footage?

  Which HD camera is it? Also, do you have an intel mac?
