I know stupid question but I want to settle the score with a professor
Is it pronounced A.J.A. letter per letter or “AJAH” as I have often heard it called
Either way I love that little lunch box.
    Thanks

You say each letter. Your professor is right. But in practice everyone I know says it like a word.

    Sean is correct.
the Company name comes from someone initials.

    however…..
AJA gave away t-shirts at NAB a couple of years ago, that listed 5-6 different pronunciations with a tag line that read something like ” we don’t care what you call us”

I call it ajah. Sounds cooler.

Edit – Actually more like (ah-jhah)

Perhaps Steely Dan style it should be more like “Asia”

Which is how I usually say it. I’ve had cogent conversations with people who say “ah-jah”, and we’ve usually understood each other (at least about the capture device!). But they answer the phone “Ay-Jay-Ay video.”

I had to believe the Steely Dan comment would come into this thread, but I have asked this question before and it semes the letters are how you pronounce AJA. But, great album eh?

    Have a wonderful day.
