Apologies for being a bit off topic, but this is the most knowlegdable Mac group I know.
I have a MacPro with dual 23 Cinema display. I was editing today when we had a sudden grid power loss and now one of the monitors won’t come back up. It gives a short, long, short flash on the power light. Tried switching power blocks and switching the input on the graphics card to no avail. Any thoughts?

Have you tried switching the cables from the 2 monitors at the card? What happens? Does the problem follow the monitor or is the other monitor now bad? Unfortunately, power losses are often coupled with power surges. Either the monitor graphics card may have been damaged.

Friend had the same problem recently, I sent him this from the Apple website. His monitor problem turned out to be the second on the list. Hope the first is the problem you have, nonetheless check apple support to be sure.

The power light flashes amber when an error has been detected.

If you see a repeating sequence of three short flashes, the monitor is detecting input in the wrong video format. Check that you have the correct graphics card installed and that you’ve installed the correct monitor software.
If you see a sequence of two short flashes and a long flash, the monitor is detecting a problem with a backlighting lamp. Contact an Apple-authorized dealer or service provider for additional information about resolving the problem.

    good luck,

    Victor

Once you get your issue resolved please be sure to pick up a cheap APC for your system. Under $100 in most stores is plenty of a backup to protect your equipment in the case of a power hit.
