  Firewire Preview Sequence Settings

  Hello, All

  I have a TV monitor (non broadcast grade) attached to a Sony Dv Deck which is attached to a Mac Pro via firewire. When I work in a sequence that’s higher then DV Codec, I can see 1 frame at a time on my monitor. My question is, am I seeing the true uncompressed signal even for 1 frame? Or is the signal being converted to the mini-dv codec for video preview?

  No.

  Yes.

  Your camcorder cannot see any firewire signal other than DV video.
