Hi everyone my problem is i have a very big project ( the project file is 58mgs ) and i have to reconect the music to another location, but it keeps crashing or the reconect window apears completely white, ive been reconecting video heavily in this project but havent had any problems, until i started reconecting the music, it goes sluggish and ends up crashing, ive thrashed the preferences just in case but the same thing happens…

oh another thing is that each time i open the project all the sequences open automaticly( i have to wait 5 mins for the 300 sequences to open) , is there a way yof making this NOT happen?

    Thank you

    Dave

    Hi David,
That smells like some corrupted media file.
That is not strange in a big project and with, I guess, a lot of inport/exports, renders, etc.
The only way to solution this is to isolate the file or files that are making troubles.
And the only way is to put off-line all the media and reconnect in bunches untill you find the guilty one.

300 sequences? Holy Cow! That’s alot of sequences.

Can you “off-load” most of those sequences into another project, thereby slimming down the
project that you use every day to a more manageable size?

Remember, FCP can have multiple projects open simultaneously. Unlike Avid, there’s NO NEED to
keep all your media, projects, etc. in ONE project. If you do, chances are you’re going to a) get corrupt files, or b) have very slow operating times. I’d suggest having a separte “Archive” project where you
keep everything but your most current sequences.
