  Audio Sample Rate but no solution!

  Hi all,

  I have an issue that has been addressed in previous posts, but no answer has been able to fix the issue.

  I am capturing PAL footage onto an 2 ghz intel core 2 duo imac, and for five out of 30+ tapes I get the message that the audio sample rate of the captured file does not match the source. They come out significantly out of sync, (not just an offset either, if I sync the beginning the end is out of sync and vice versa).

  The five tapes were from three different cameras (all set to 48khz).

  I have tried capturing from multiple decks to no avail. I have tried exporting the audio at 48khz (even though clip settings lists the clips as 48khz) but still no luck. Capturing shorter clips from the tapes works but is not an ideal solution.

  Any suggestions?

  It certainly sounds as if the bad tapes were shot at 32khz. Try it out at the very least by copying the 48khz easy setup, then change the audio to 32khz and try capturing a few minutes. If that is the ticket you will know immediately.

  Thanks so much David.

  That was exactly it. The strange thing is is that all of our other tapes that came from that camera were all shot and captured at 48khz, and no one ever changed the settings. How could that happen?
