Problems with RED ONE medias
Posted by Sebastian Bugna on February 23, 2009 at 4:05 pmHello there. i have a problem with running and editing on final cut pro 6, red one medias. I have a PowerPc G5. can it be the problem? Please let me know, because the installers for final cut do not support PPC, only Intel…Thanks!

“You just answered your own question. You’re running a PPC G5. So the installers do not support your machine.

The lesson here is new media, new computers. Got it?
Anytime someone creates a new form of media, it is assumed that this new form is to be used on new computer platforms only. Just a rule of thumb to remember for the future.

• Dual 2.0 GHz or faster Intel Core Duo, or Intel Xeon processor (the RED plugin is only
compatible with Intel processors), with a minimum of 2 GB of RAMMinimum software requirements for using the RED plugin with Final Cut Studio:
• Mac OS X v10.4.11 or Mac OS X v10.5.5 or later
• QuickTime 7.5.5 or later
• Final Cut Pro 6.0.5, Color 1.0.3, and Compressor 3.0.5
• The RED Final Cut Studio Installer (version 1.0)

what’s the question, Walter said it only worked on intel macs…and all of those software versions are now out of date too…
