  • Problem with strange offset Write-On effect AE6.5

Posted by Randy Mcwilson on June 12, 2007 at 3:36 am

I am trying to use the Write-On effect to simulate handwriting of fancy text and I create the path on the text and then when I apply the shape of the path to the brush position, it ALWAYS offsets it down below the original image and it is often scaled smaller.

    Please help

    Thanks

Dunno. Is the mask on the same layer as the text? Are you copying the Mask Shape and Pasting that into Write-on’s brush position? Same layer?

You could always use Aharon’s tut that uses stroke on masks (paths, since they are open), no copy/pasting at all.

It does sound like you’re using two different layers, one a text layer and one another layer with write-on applied. Are you trying to reveal the text, like Jayse reveals vines with Write-on in his tut, here?

Or are you using write on to actually write it on? I think the text layer needs to be the same layer, same size as the layer with the write-on.

Are both layers the same size ???

Thanks to all. I used the stroke method instead, but I see now that it was a problem with using 2 layers, even though they were duplicates of each other.

    THANKS
