HD Project Output to SD Format?
Hey Folks,
I wonder if you can help me straighten out an out-put process/procedure?I am working on projects with a 17″ G4 Powerbook with FCP 5.0.4 HD. I am recording video on P2 cards, usually in 720p 60fps HD format. I am working on a 22-minute project that I need to output to DVD. I have no High-Def output capacity—BlueRay or such. I can however successfully output using Compressor if I change the FCP sequence to NTSC, but the visual flow seems kind of jerky in that format.
Here is my question: How can I best output an HD project to DVD, with my current system, and maintain high quality—-ridding the sequence of the jerkiness and have a smooth flowing sequence? Do I have to change the original HD FCP sequence format to NTSC, render and then output it at NTSC 4×3 at 29.97 fps in DVD Studio Pro?
Do you have any simple upgrade suggestions to up my quality so there aren’t visual compromises, yet still be compatible with the computer systems in the business world—I mean getting an external HD burner or something??? Right now I would like to keep costs down until things start rolling—so program upgrades and new equipment are not my favored route..
On the project outputting, I wonder if I should use Quicktime (what settings?), Compressor? or Quicktime Conversion(settings?)?
Any suggestions?
