    Hello,

I just opened up a multicamera edit I’ve been working on for a couple of weeks and half of my media has gone offline.

It’s a 10 camera edit of a 90 minute show and I’m half way through it.

I copied the project so I could try to fix it. The media is all still there on my external G-Speed drive. When I reconnect it I get a warning:

“File Attribute Mismatch – Some attributes of one or more of the files you have chosen do not match the attributes of the original. This may cause problems within the sequences that are dependent on them. The attributes that differed are as follows:

    Media Start and End.

Would you like to try to connect them again?”

If I reconnect it does indeed mess up my multiclip sequence. I get all sorts of shots in the multicamera preview pane from all different places in the show.

However, if I start a new project, import the same media and make it into a new multiclip sequence everything is back in sync. The problem with this of course is that this sequence has none of my edit information from the precious project.

So, can anybody tell me what has caused this and how I can fix my project?

Or, can anybody tell me how to transport the edit info from my original project to my new project?

Thanks for reading this, I really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Steve.

Steve, FCP is probably trying to connect the wrong files to the clips – may have something to do with similar filenames in various directories or a directory being renamed accidentally.
How many files are there to be reconnected, 10 (1 for every angle) or more? Try doing it by locating them yourself instead of FCP doing it for you. If you get the same message try reconnecting them one by one.

And if this proves too much of a hassle you could go through your autosave vault, see which autosave is the last one that had all media still connected and see if it is a recent enough version to work from there.

    Hope this helps,
    Jaap
