    The set up is: Pro Rez HQ 50 fps in HD 1280×720.
    FCP gets stuck all the time. I get the spinning wheel for a while and then it sort of releases the stream again. Never had this problem before. Drives are fast enough for this type of stream I would say. It must be something within FCP, my processor…. Also tried without output via my Kona card. Didn’t help.

    You are assuming that your raid throughput is adequate — why not test read/write speed with the Kona test utility?

    I did. Throughput for 1280/720 10 bits with 4 gig file size: read 227 MB/s and write 219,4 MB/s. Wouldn’t that be more than enough?

    Do you have Premiere Pro CS3 installed on that machine? I would remove any Kona drivers you have installed for PP and see if that helps your playback.

    I know AJA finally released the drivers for that app on the Kona, but I’m curious if that’s causing any issues with ProRez files.

    I uninstalled the Aja Adobe drivers. Didn’t help
