Problems with Pro Rez HQ
The set up is: Pro Rez HQ 50 fps in HD 1280×720.
FCP gets stuck all the time. I get the spinning wheel for a while and then it sort of releases the stream again. Never had this problem before. Drives are fast enough for this type of stream I would say. It must be something within FCP, my processor…. Also tried without output via my Kona card. Didn’t help.Kool En De Anderen

You are assuming that your raid throughput is adequate — why not test read/write speed with the Kona test utility?

I did. Throughput for 1280/720 10 bits with 4 gig file size: read 227 MB/s and write 219,4 MB/s. Wouldn’t that be more than enough?

Do you have Premiere Pro CS3 installed on that machine? I would remove any Kona drivers you have installed for PP and see if that helps your playback.
I know AJA finally released the drivers for that app on the Kona, but I’m curious if that’s causing any issues with ProRez files.

I uninstalled the Aja Adobe drivers. Didn’t help
