another Export by reference taking too long
Posted by Greg Ball on February 6, 2009 at 3:11 pmI see a post below it the same issue. maybe somebody can shed some light. I have an EX1 sequence that I’m trying to export by reference. It’s 2 minutes long. Yet it’s taking 19 minutes to export by reference!!
Why would this be happening?Chris Babbitt replied 17 years, 6 months ago 4 Members · 9 Replies -

It’s called “Conforming,” and it’s a fact of life when dealing with Long-GOP video such as XDCAM and HDV.

February 6, 2009 at 4:07 pmEverything is rendered to pro res 422. I can understand this time when exporting a self contained Quicktime, but why would a reference file take this long?

February 7, 2009 at 10:31 pmInteresting. I thought conforming applied to xdcam in an xdcam timeline, or hdv in an hdv timeline. If you’re in a ProRes timeline, and you’ve rendered it. Shouldn’t a reference export simply reference the prores render files?
