  Final Cut Pro Studio 2 Quicktime conversion Problems with HD

  I am having trouble exporting my HD sequence using quick time conversion. The exported file is always out of sync missing some video always in the same place no matter what settings I use to export. I have never had this problem using standard def sequences. I have managed to export using quick time to make a new clip in FCP then exporting that file using qt conversion did work but that route takes twice as long. Any suggestions how I can export my HD sequence properly.

  you shouldn’t generally use quicktime conversion.

  It doesn’t do a very good job of down converting (it’s ok but not great like it could be)
  and a lot of times the gamma doesn’t match.

  just export from the time line as a quicktime.

  change the compressor to uncompressed or prores if your worried about
  a generation loss, though this is usually only apparent on DV and HDV sequences.

  Thanks that helps a bit. I am trying to get a smaller file size as well but keep the quality as high as possible. I need the files to upload on youtube in HD. I can go up to 1gb but that is much larger then I would like.
