Got a load of dailies from argentina. A frame is on the 1’s. So batch reverse doesn’t work.

When I reverse telecine individual clips, cinema tools seems to be re-striping the timecode so that the 24fps A frame is on zero. So my burn-in code reads “01:00:00:01” but my timecode track is “01:00:00:00”

I understand there’s a variance because of the 30->24 translation. But shouldn’t there be a frame where both 30fps burn-in code and 24fps timecode track match perfectly? Normally if the A frames were on 0, then your codes would always match on the zero’s.

I’m only concerned because this is a project that will be finished in HD and I want my EDL’s to be spot on for the finishing house. And I’m a little rusty on my 3:2 theory.

    THANKS!!!!!!
Glad to be back on the Cow

Ah ha. The timecode track and the burn in don’t match on the source tape. They’re a frame off.

    nothing like grade A dailies
