    Hi,

I am working on a project using Final cut pro 5.1 and am having problems with the audio dropping out every now and then. It quite a big project and I need to fix this problem. I have asked elsewhere and somepeople said that it could be a driver issue between Quick Time and Final Cut having recently upgraded to Quicktime 7. Has anyone else come across this problem before or have an alternative solution or know which quicktime is best suited to Final Cut 5 and how big a job is is to uninstall quicktime? Your help is much appreciated

Have you mixed down your audio tracks? Sequence Menu>Render Only>Mixdown

    Hi John,

Have tried that, it’s working for playouts but the problem still persists.

Pretty sure it’s because quicktime has been upgraded to 7.5 but only running final cut 5.1. Is it possible to downgrade? Can’t upgrade Final Cut at the moment

    Thanks for your help

Search the COW for the version of QT you want. The answer might be there. I’ve read posts about how to roll back, but can’t point you to them. Our other FCP system has FCP 5.1.4 and QT 7.1.3 with OS 10.4.8 and we’ve had no problems. If you can’t find the QT installer you need, perhaps re-post asking if anyone has that installer. If you just need to roll back one version you might find it on the Apple site.
