  FCP HDV 1080i60 Workflow

  Hello guys,
  I’m having a render nightmare. I currently have HDV footage a 30 min 10bit uncompressed time line. I need to find the best way to edit HDV 1080i60 footage on a blackmagic 10 bit uncompressed sequence.

  Edit the HDV in a HDV 1080i60 sequence, then when you’re done cut that into your other sequence.

  Thanks David, but is there any way to lessen the long render time on the new sequence?

  HDV is processor intensive. The only things that help are a faster computer or capturing to a less processor intensive codec such as ProRes.

  Hi — sometimes I find that exporting a standalone movie from the timeline and re-importing can do an end-around the HDV render blues…there are other issues of course but for graphics and AE renders it really speeds things along.
