Adding text in Final Cut affects Video
Hi, a first time post.
I’m having a problem with moire/boiling in the clip that I’m posting. Adding text causes the image in the computer screen in the clip to boil, although as you can see in the following clip, no text layer, no boil.
It would be interesting to know if anyone else has come across this problem, and if anyone has a solution.

You forgot to copy and paste the URL tag form the upload screen.
Moiré is a specific visual artifact caused by conflicts in pixel/scanning frequency ratios; never hear of boiling.
You will need to provide some basic information like the format and codec in which you are working. Most boiling issues are simple user errors such as not viewing the resulting renders on a the release medium display or attempting to use typefaces that are inappropriate for the release medium.bogiesan

Sorry, this is my first posting, so my query was in moderation, and I was unable to post the video.
We’re working with Uncompressed 10 Bit Blackmagic. PAL 16:9 Full Height Aspect. If you can see the video, you’ll see a shimmer on the computer screen behind the meerkat, when there is text applied to the footage. In the second half of the clip, there’s no shimmer. The shimmer is not caused visually by the text, as it’s on a different part of the screen.

Did you render it? Are you viewing it on a broadcast monitor?

Yes its rendered, and yes it’s being viewed on a broadcast monitor.

Text should be placed using the point controls in the Controls Tab but most people do not do that. They mistakenly move the Wireframe, which, if not careful, can cause a field reversal making the text look muddy. Did you move the Wireframe in the Motion Tab? If so, is the Y value a whole, even number? Make sure that it is.
