  Timecode Out

  Hello, got a call from our local lighting designer who is doing a Fashion Show for us. We run music synced to video and graphics from a FCP timeline for projection and this year we will be using an Avolites Diamond 4 Elite Lighting Control Console which can be set to read timecode for automated cueing. Anyone got any ideas on how to get timecode from the FCP timeline out to the lighting console? It has USB and Firewire ports. Thanks, Dean

  You probably need LTC. That is easy to generate, but will take up an audio channel.
  How many outputs do you have?
  (i have no idea if you can output more than 2 channels without hardware…)

  Hmmm… You might be able to hook into FCP’s Mackie protocol control surface support and use something like “Timecode” from https://e-pocalypse.com/timecode/ to generate a Midi Timecode stream that your console can be set up to read
