copying text attributes
Posted by Renee Bergan on January 6, 2009 at 8:16 pmHi
is there anyway to copy and paste text attributes like you can do with images? i’m working on a film with subtitles that we’ve created via the text generator, i want to make them all a hair bigger..can i do this anyway simply or must i go in and change each one individually. I”m working in FCP 5.1.4.
thanks

January 6, 2009 at 9:05 pmYou can do this in the Motion tab by increasing the scale. Then paste attributes and select “basic motion” and the scaling factor will be applied. If you’re just scaling up a bit, it should look ok. You’ll have to decide if changing the font size instead is worth the effort.

January 6, 2009 at 10:07 pmI’d never scale text beyond 100%. You’ll have to do them one at a time, however, I believe there is an XML tool that may assist you out there somewhere that can help you do this.
Or: make your own.
