Exporting for web and YouTube
Greetings, all.
I’m banging my head against the wall to find the right formula but keep coming up with nothing but a headache.
I have a project edited in 16:9 and need to export it to the web in widescreen. My source material was shot in 16:9 on DVCAM and edited anamorphic.
First, I need to create a proper MPEG 4 file for YouTube. My video keeps coming out either squashed or with side bars. Can anyone point me to the right FCP export settings that makes YT happy?
Second and perhaps more important, I’m trying to find the right parameters to get the same 16:9 video posted to my own webcast site. The player is only 4:3 at this time, so I know there will be significant letterboxing at the top and bottom of the screen which is fine. Therefore I need to find the right export to QT settings and the right Flash settings (Sorenson Squeeze) so the picture is not squished or cropped.
Thanks to anyone who can offer some advise here.
