  hdv via firewire, in the dvcpro codec?

  What are you capturing with? Most devices have a downcovert option.

  You can not capture HDV via firewire to the DVCPro HD codec.

  You will need an HD capture card and capture via HMDI or component.

  thanks, someone asked….we would normally go HD SDI out of a 1500, to the codec, but someone specifically asked about firewire…they can always convert in compressor…but our FCPs at work all have capture cards, either Kona or BlackMagic…
