Hi everybody! I’m new to the forum and new to FCP.

I’ve been given some quicktime files that I cannot open in
    FCP 6.0.1

Here is the QT file data as per Finder:
    -640×480
    -Integer (Big Endian), DV/DVCPRO-NTSC
    -Bit Rate: 30,302

If I try to open them in FCP I get the following msg: “Unsupported Frame rate, FCP does not support this frame rate or the way it is represented.”

If I try to drag it into the browser or import I get: “File Error: Unknown File.”

The bit rate is suspect, but what I’m curious about is that on my G4, I could import the files into imovie (QT Pro) w/o a problem.

    Thanks in advance, Jim

Sorry, when “playing” QT reports the frame rate as 30fps

Use Cinema Tools to CONFORM the file to 29.97.

Shane, would Cinema Tools be a good way to convert 23.98 progressive to 29.97 NTSC? Just curious…
