    Hi,

I am working on a documentary… I did some editing on a friends computer. He has Final Cut Pro 6. We exported the FCP file to an XML file so that I can open it in FCP 5 on my computer but is asking me to “Choose a translation file”. Does anyone know what this means?

    Thx

What version XML was used to export? Try version 2.

    All the best,

    Tom

    Hi there !

I tried the same: to open a “fcp” editing project I did on my laptop with FCP 5 and open it on a G5 macintosh which also runs FCP 5. First I had an error message (“general error 41” or “51”. I searched and read on few forums I cannot open fcp project I worked on a computer to another). I tried “xml” format and I got the same message as Shawna Glover-> “Choose a translation file”.
What is a translation file ? Do you have any documentation which can hlp me understanding this “xml” format ?

    Thanks !
