    Hi there!

I recently wrapped a project where the client provided WMVs for b-roll. Not the greatest workflow, but for the project it worked out.

Anyway, when working with this project in FCP, at the splash screen when the program opens, a “Flip4Mac WMV” dialog box comes up that says “Importing…” with a progress bar. About 10 of these come up in a row, presumably one for each of the WMVs in the project, and then the project opens.

Well I’ve closed the project, have deleted the render files, but STILL whenever I open Final Cut I get that series of Flip4Mac dialogs!

Any ideas what may be causing this?

    Thanks for your help!

    Nick

I had the same issue with Motion and it had to do with the preview icons in the browser. Sorry I can’t be specific but maybe change your bin view settings to list.

You would have to get rid of all the WMVs in your project.

    But the project isn’t open…

This now happens on every project you open? Or only that project? In your prefrences, do you have ‘Open last open project on application launch’ checked? if so, uncheck that.

That’s the trick… It now happens every time I open Final Cut, even when Final Cut is NOT loading that project. “Open last project on open” is off.

    Trashed prefs?

Was hoping to avoid that, but if there’s a good chance it would work it might be worth saving the extra 2-3 minutes FCP takes to start up now, LOL.

Try it and see if it works, if it doesn’t I have one more idea…

Several times now… I power down at the end of each day.

Trashed the preference files, that did the trick!

    Thanks, Jeremy!
