  converting avid projects to final cut

  hello all,
  is there any way, when having to convert from an avid project to a final cut pro, to keep the project structure such as logged clips and snyced audio clips? Is automatic duck really any good if all it does if give you the timeline? And what about effect heavy timelines? How does it cope with these. Is the safest option just to start again from scratch using edls and restructure the entire project?

  Automatic duck is the only way to accomplish that.

  .edl works too, but a lot more work involved unless
  the timeline is nothing but straight cuts & dissolves.

  There used to be a free bit of software that did this…Sebsky’s tools. But I think they went under. They brought over the project bins and the like.

  But The Duck is the best way to get over the timeline. EDLs are very lacking.
