  A bit OT: My panasonic is making a high pitched noise

  I have a panasonic BT-LH170w that I bought second hand today.

  When I came home with it ( and I handled it gently ) I heard a high pitched summing noise – very loud and irritating. ( reminds me of the noise that CRTs used to make late in their lifespan before they were ready to be scrapped… )

  What can cause this sound? Someone said something about 50 or 60 hrz? And suggested that Id switch between the two – but found nothing in the menu…..

  The picture is great, but Its hopeless to use it now..

  Any ideas anyone?

  Bring it back. Unless the seller told you about the sound when they sold it to you, you should be able to work something out.
