compressor won’t connect
I need help, I have spent three days on this. I keep getting that error message: “Cannot submit Batch unable to connect to bakground process”
I have done the delete and re install and done the solution for compressor 2 on the apple site and I am woundering if it’s that I went from a Tiger system to Leopard.
Can anyone help me? Final Cut does seem to work, but I cannot get compressor to compress a movie.
Is this a bug or a new problem, had no problem with my old G-5 dual.
Now I have a G-5 dual quad and new system, anyone out there know anything, please?thanks in advance,

I have tried that twice and it still doesn’t work. I have tried everything I could find on the forums and on apple, that’s why I’m asking.
I am wondering since I have seen stuff regarding Tiger and Panther, if maybe Leopard system isn’t compatable with compressor.

That’s a possibility. I don’t have Leopard on any of my machines so I’ve never checked for compatibility issues between Compressor 2 and Leopard. But you can by going to the Apple site and check for minimum/maximum Final Cut Studio requirements specific to your setup.
I have OS 10.4.11 on my 2.7 Ghz G5 and Compressor 2.0.1 works fine on that. It also works fine on my Macbook Pro (Compressor 2.0.3) with the exact same OS version. My Mac Pro is using Compressor 3.0.2, again with OS 10.4.11.
Once you’ve determined if it is a version compatibility issue or not you’ll be better equipped to decide about staying with Leopard or going back to the latest version of Tiger. The reason I’ve never upgraded to Leopard is because I don’t have a need and my systems are very stable the way they are. Something to consider.
