• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  Missing Video

  Just finished a week of shooting tons of P2 footage, which was all imported into Final Cut, viewed, and safe & secure on the drives.

  Got home and interestingly none of the video appears in the FC VIEWER window — only the audio plays. However, a few tests DO APPEAR intact on the timeline.

  Tried the RGB setting in the viewer, & upgraded to QT 7.5.5 Pro.
  However, several codecs seem to be missing in the LIBRARY… AppleMPEG2Codec.component
  AppleProRes422.component
  DVCPROHDCodec.component
  Could be helpful to know where I might download those, if needed!

  I am not Shane, but I can offer assistance.

  Those codecs are installed with FCP. You can’t download them.

  The only thing you can download is a ProRes Decompressor, but it will not allow encoding (i.e. no rendering).

  Did you check all your footage on this same computer or is this now a different computer?

  Hey Bogiesan,

  How ya been? I got it fixed… It was the codecs — that got messed up through another issue. A reinstall of FC fixed it.
