  Capturing from a Sony HVR HD1000 in FCP6

  I’m struggling to capture DV footage from my Sony HVR HD1000 to FCP 6. What settings should I be using? I am using a firewire straight from the camera not a dv deck.
  Also, is imovie compatible with this camera? It won’t recognise that the camera is attached at all?

  I have used the Apple Intermediate Codec, pixel a.r. 1440 x 1080, field dominance UPPER, 29,97 /render in 8bit – but I’m not sure if this settings are the best one. I am really in doubt, because, when I play this captured stuff, I can’t see the clips faster than 1x. Abnormal…. waiting for better settings. Thanks.
