editing a movie recorded in quicktime pro with final cut pro (frame rate issues)
hello
I recorded a 5 minute clip using the isight on my macbook pro and quicktime pro movie recording. I want to edit that video on final cut pro. the problem i get is that when i drop the clip in the timeline on final cut pro the video is out of synch with the audio. It also plays at a faster speed. I looked at the frame rate it was recorded in and every clip i recorded using movie recording on quicktime pro had a different frame rate (around 20 frames but always different e.g 20.8 or 21.76) When importing this video into the timeline on fcp fcp told me that the sequence settings do not match the clip settings so that it would adjust them for me. I went inrto sequence settings and it had adjusted the sequence settings as 29.97 (which i think is the NSTC standard) this i suppose results in the faster video speed.
The clip i recorded in movie recording on quicktime was the better setting in preferences (H.264) I also tried the device native setting that recorded it at 21.9. Neither synch up when i import them into fcp.
Basically i just want to edit the video in final cut pro and have the video synch with the audio. I tried changing the frame rate in sequence settings so that it matched the clip but all the options were presets. I have tried to change the recording settings in quicktime but there seems to be no option to record at a cetrain frame rate.
I really need someones help and quickly.
Thanks a lot for reading this.
