I use 16:9 widescreen videos for Final Cut Pro. However, when I increase the size of the video on the screen by using wireframe, I lose the widescreen bars. Also, whenever I use the cross zoom effect, the screen goes beyond the bars. Is there any way I can keep the widescreen bars throughout the whole movie?

Do you mean letterboxing? You should see letterboxing in the canvas. It sounds as if you’re exitign your anamorphic material in a 4:3 sequence. Check your sequence settings.

    All the best,

Add a widescreen matte layer to V2. This will keep any transitions on V1 from appearing to move past the letterbox edge.
