  DVCPROHD tape recommendation

  Hello all,
  I am finishing a DVCPROHD project that runs 45 minutes. I am outputting to tape onto an AJ-HD1400 deck. The only tape I can find on B&H that is long enough for this project is the Panasonic AJ-HP126EX Extra Large DVCPRO HD-LP Video Cassette. However, the write up on the tape says it is only compatible with anasonic AJ-SD965 and AJ-HD1700 equipment… not the 1400.

  What tape stock are you folks using to output long 1080i DVCPROHD projects to tape on the 1400? Any recommendations are appreciated.

  You can get the 126L tapes and they will record up to 63 minutes in a 1400. Beyond that you will require the extra large cassettes and the studio VTRs.

  And be sure to only purchase Panasonic or FujiFilm tapestock and not Maxell. We had some serious issues with Maxell the one time we purchased them and returned the entire order. Fuji and Panny are actually the same tape stock sold under two names.

  No you don’t. Not for the 1400. That tape is only for the studio machines, it’s an extra large cassette and does not fit into a 1400 machine.

  We use the 126L’s on a daily basis. That is the tape he wants to use for the 1400.
