    Help!

I have a project that has merged clips. I moved the source audio files to another drive. I reconnected the media in the bin (the original files, not the master files) but I can’t seem to reconnect the offline media in the timeline from the merged clips.

    Any clues?

I think in order to get merged clips to move without hitches you have to use the Media Manager for the moving… if you drag and drop them, they likely won’t reconnect properly.

Thanks Jerry! Always to the rescue…

On that note, I have figured out a work-around that might actually speed things up a bit. Question though: Shot in the dark here, but is there a way to batch rename source files? I ask, because my sound recordist gave me all the sound files with the source names of “recording.mov, recording1.mov” etc. I have renamed all the recordings in FCP, but if there was a way to match the source name with the file name in FCP, I can save myself a boat load of head aches.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Jerry!

I’m a rookie at Media Management in FCP. I used the Media Manager to move sequences with merged clips from one drive to the other. The problem is that when I reconnected the media: all the audio clips have changed their name to the VIDEO file that was linked to them. Is there a way to change them back to their original name? (in order to be able to work with the sound tracks separately)

    Any suggestions are welcome,
Thank you so much for your time!!!

    Manuela
