  • Estimating render duration

When choosing “Render” FCP shows a message “Writing video …” and the estimated time. However, I want to know a little more. Which sequence? Which are already rendered – or which are still in the queue? Is it possible to get a message – a beep – or something like that?

    Thanks in advance …

When you select a render command, it’s always the sequence which is open in the timeline – the front one.

I usually auto render a bunch of sequences in the timeline – not more than ten, since FCP has a tendency to crash when there are more sequences than ten – and when the first is done, the next starts to render without FCP telling me which one it is.

I can live with it, but it would be a nice upgrade if Apple adds this function.

    Thanks anyway, Jerry.

I guess you can always stop the render, look, then start it again.
