  • Pre-comping SHINE?

    Hi all,

I’ve got a problem whereby I have a text layer with shine applied to it that I need to pre-comp with a bunch of other related layers into my main comp…the shine effect gets cut off when I move the pre-comp around in my main comp – the edges of the precomp are cut off sharp. Continual rasterize doesn’t really work because shine then tries to re-calculate it’s point of origin and messes up.

Any thoughts how I can get around this?

My quick fix is to put a soft edge mask around the offending layers, but it’s far from ideal.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

I’d make your pre-comp size large enough so that it’s edges don’t appear on screen as it moves?

That’s what I’ve done in the past aswell. Crank up the Pre-Comp size so you don’t get the cut off. Works fine for me.

    cheers

‘Grow Bounds’ should handle this perfectly.

You may need to move GROW BOUNDS up in the rendering order after you add it, for it to work.
