    Hey everyone,

I’m having a problem with after effects’ Graph editor.
I’m trying to animate a camera with easing on it and I want to adjust this easing so I thought I could use the bezier handles in the graph editor to smooth it out more (just as in the curve editor of 3ds max).

But I’m afraid I can’t get the bezier handles to show up. I followed a video tutorial of the graph editor on adobe’s site and they’ve got their bezier handles going without a mention as to how. I follow every step but they just don’t show up. I select easy easying and the lines adjust themselves but there aren’t any control points.

This leaves me with animation that’s a bit dodgy, especially around keyframes since the control points are most likely too long and extreem by default, colliding with other keyframes’ controlpoints.

I did read about a bug in after effects 6.5 that’s making it that the control points of the bezier handles don’t appear but I’m using after effects 7 PRO.

I do hope someone can help me out here. My schoolproject is due in 3 weeks. If not with this problem, maybe giving me tips how to animate a camera properly without the graph editor, since I’m getting jerky movements or movements that I didn’t even make but the easing did.

    Thanks in advanced,
    Curb.

The graph editor can display a value graph or a speed graph.
In the case of position property, you will only get bezier handles in the speed graph mode.
For the value graph, this can’t be represented with handles because there are so separate values/interpolation for XYZ. The bezier handles for position value are the ones you get in the Comp panel.
It’s not a “bug”, although an option to have Separate XYZ control for position is a common request. All other properties do give you bezier handles for value.

    Ah, I see!

I guess I made the comparison with 3dmax too fast when seeing a graph. =D
I’ll try to smooth it out with the speed graph then, although that thing looks mighty confusing.

    Thanks a lot! =D
