I have some video that I want to capture in FCP that is on a VHS tape. So, I hooked up the VCR to my camcorder then camcorder to my computer, of course. The video plays in my log and capture window. So far everything is cool. The problem occurs when I try to capture the video. FCP can’t find a time code from the VHS tape and won’t start to capture. Is there a way to capture without timecode? Or, what can I do to capture this video?

In the capture settings tab of the log and capture widow, make sure to chnage the device control to ‘non-controllable device’
