  Preview Disabled – Tried all the usual suspects

  I’m trying to ingest from S-VHS through my AJA IO. Did this no problem a couple weeks ago. Now I get the dreaded preview disabled message.

  FCP 5.1.4, AJA v. 1.2, Tiger, Intel Mac

  Trashed preferences, checked the S-VHS cable, checked the Firewire, no other devices on Firewire bus, restarted Mac, restarted AJA

  Using preset – S-VHS/8bit uncompressed. See video in NTSC monitor, just not FCP.

  Any thoughts?

  Problem solved. What solved it was to uninstall and then reinstall the IO software. The reinstall was the exact same version. So who knows why it decided to stop working. Go figure. Good waste of 3 hours though. Ha.
