I have noticed that after switching to leopard I am having quite a bit of trouble with corrupted quicktime files both when played in Quicktime and also in FCP. The files seem fine enough but then all of the sudden there is this large portion of complete digital static. It comes and goes intermittently. I have noticed it happens sometimes in FCP but the actual clip is fine when played in QT. Any thoughts?

There are many things that may make your movie look worst in FC than in QT: Codec, RT settings, System performance. This doesn’t means there is nothing wrong (for example the most part of the No Apple codecs normally play well in QT but no way to make them go in FC).
However you give very little details about what are you working with codecs, sizes, system etc.
