ok – heres the situation- you have a logo with white fill edge to be cropped/scaled in over white bg and then dissolve up and down…
if one puts the logo on track 2 and a white colour matte on track 1 and dissolves both up individually the dissolve remains blacker on the colour matte revealing the logo above..
solution: nest maybe? so that the two dissolve together? not so, now there is a visible line where the crop edge is! only when the dissolve is going and only when rendered. surely this is a common place situation- any ideas? have tried changing the alpha from black/white/straight etc doesnt seem to help…

    Hi Hamish,
had you apply some Feather to the Cropping?
You can also try to apply some Channel Blur to the Alpha channel of the logo.

Put the video that you are dissolving TO or dissolving FROM on a video track ABOVE the logo.

Then, ramp the video opacity on the top track to cover the logo.

This is also the proper trick to use if you are fading to/from black on a complex, multi-layer timeline. Black would go on a track above all other video tracks.

feathering doesnt seem to help but putting the video track on-top does! good solution, simple yet i just didnt think laterally, or vertically as the case may be.. thank you
