  • Multiclip: How to get Viewer and Timeline to play simultaneously?

Posted by Danny Weiss on July 21, 2008 at 7:33 pm

Multiclip was working just fine, I but noticed that the two cameras were slightly out of sinc. I deleted the Multiclip sequence and started over by inserting the correct out points. However, when I dropped the new Multiclip onto the new sequence, the two cameras were not being displayed in the Viewer. I double clicked on the video track and the two camera views came up in the Viewer, however when I clicked and played the video on the Timeline, the video played in the Canvas but the two cameras were frozen still in the Viewer. If I click the play button in the Viewer, the two cameras move as they should, but the playhead is stopped and does not move across the Timeline.

So, I can either get the Timeline to play in the Canvas without the Viewer cameras playing simultaneously, or I can get the the Viewer to play without the Timeline playing. Any ideas how I can get the Viewer AND the Timeline to both play simultaneously?

    Help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like things are hanging? Just a guess, but do you have “Multiclip Playback” checked in your RT settings?

It’s fixed now; I got some help at the Apple Final Cut Pro Forum. The sync switch in the Viewer was off. I opened it and works fine now.

    Thanks anyway for your reply.
