Aliasing
I shot footage on the HVX-200 at 480/30p. Then I pulled it into a DVCPro50 Timeline (which was what FCP adjusted it to).
Right now I’m having some real bad stair-stepping and aliasing on any diagonal lines. I looked at the original footage using QT and there wasn’t any there.
Any suggestions?

What external monitor are you using and what video hardware (i.e. Kona, Matrox, Blackmagic) are you using to feed it?

NVIDIA GeForce 7800GT – display card;
AJA IoLA feeds Panasonic BT-LH1700WP External Monitor;
running FCP Studio 2 and QT 7.4.1.I am seeing the problem both on the external monitor and the FCP Canvas (on my Mac).

Is your Sequence and Io LA set up correctly to display the footage? 480/30p is non-standard as typically DV Easy Setup would put you in 720×480 29.97 interlaced.
Make sure you’re properly set up to view 480/30p if that is what you truly shot. Also ensure that your Sequence is properly set up for 480/30p.
Also, never ever pay any attention to quality on the FCP Canvas. That is always degraded.
