  Can’t see external monitor

  I have a DV deck that is connected to an external monitor. When I put in DVs to review rushes, it plays back fine. However, for some reason despite video playback being set to PAL 720×576, and all frames has been selected, I cant watch back anything from the timeline.

  It used to work but have recently changed to a new computer so was wondering if there was an option anywhere in system settings maybe that might need adjusting.

  Also I should mention that I can capture from the deck too, so the Firewire connection is working fine and it must be something wrong with Final Cut or the computer.

  Phil,

  Is your video playback set to Firewire? Check in your audio/video settings.
