  Re ingest (digitize) issues

  Hello All:
  I’m redigitizing footage for a show and upon “reconnect media” I occasionally get a “(variable)” on the clip on the timeline and it’s a still image from that reel. Any ideas why that is happening. I’m still in FCP 5 and have never seen this before. I did a search and can’t see it in the archives either, If I missed it I apologise. So, the show was great, I had to take the footage off the drive to make other shows, and now that a producer is asking for a different edit, I’m redigitising the footage and get these “Reel name(variable) titles on the clips in the timeline and instead of my clip being there, it’s a still from that particular reel. It’s only happened twice from over 40 Panasonic 126L tapes shot on a varicam.
