Since changing from Powerbook to MacBook Pro – AE 7.0.1 will not open? Do I have to upgrade to CS3? Have tried re-installing, but still no good – the ap goes through the motions of booting but disappears.

there have been reported issues with some older quicktime components givine ae7 fits. i noticed that you have media100 installed, you might make sure that you have the latest quicktime components from them.

if you want to determine if third party quicktime components are the problem, go into the library (not the system library)/quicktime and move the components to a folder on you desktop. do the same in users/(username)/library/quicktime. then try opening ae7.

if it works try putting back only the componenents you need, and try opening ae again. if it works, great; if not, then you’ll need to try to find updated components.

if it’s not the components, reply back.
