  isolating clips in sequence for Master Audio Mixer

  Is there anyway to isolate a section of a timeline to increase/ decrease the volume level with the master audio mixer control.

  In other words, I want to only affect a certain portion of the sequence with the Master Audio Mixer tool and have the rest remain the same. Going in and adjusting the numerous clips dB levels individually would be much more complex if I had to do that.

  I’m thinking perhaps highlighting all the clips that would be affected could do the trick. Any other suggestions how to affect a certain range on the timeline.

  The way to isolate clips you’ll only mix with the mixer, you must put them in the same track, and then it’s also convenient to click on the dots that “hide” the other tracks in the Audio mixer. Those little dots on the left next to the track names…

  The big buttons across the top save 4 different setups of which tracks you want to see at any given time… use the buttons to hide them, use the large buttons to save the preset.

  In regards to automating the master fader… is this possible

  I am mixing for 5.1 and have a project containing 14 tracks at about 2 hours in length
  certain sections are much quieter then others (interviews compared to live music)
  i have increased the volume of the individual interview tracks (very time consuming)

  my master output is set at 0dB. i want to increase the output volume on only the interview sections

  considering i am at the top for gain on individual tracks my only option is to automate/record the levels of the fader as I am riding it in real time.
  this seems like a pretty basic and straight forward audio task?
  can FCP do this?
  if not any suggestions will be appreciated
  thanks
