  Master quicktime sources

  Hello,

  I am looking to playback master quicktime files in HD format. So far, I have been working with final cut pro to generate these files, importing from various different HD formats to create a DVCPRO HD master. There are 2 questions I have with this:

  1. Is DVCPRO HD the best format I should master to (in HD) *I can’t playback an HD 10 bit uncompressed 4:2:2 without a Raid from my understanding. If not DVCPRO HD, should I use Pro Res 4:2:2

  2. When I export using quicktime conversion, it only lets me go to MED, why is this so?
  What can I do to change this?

  I would suggest editing and mastering in ProRes.

  If you’re exporting as the codec that you edited in, I would suggest using Export-QuickTime Movie instead of QuickTime conversion.
