  • After Effects Error – File path too long when trying to use “collect files”

Posted by Dave Glanz on April 27, 2007 at 2:23 pm

I searched google and the forums for this issue, and had no luck.

I’m trying to archive a few After Effects projects on a mac, using the “File > Collect Files” command. For a few projects, after opening the archived version, I get this error when trying to save the file:

“After Effects warning: file path too long, may be missing when read. (“file name”) (3 :: 78)”

I have to click “OK” a bunch of time before the file will save, with no option to cancel. It also seems to be disrupting rendering of the proejct. Anyone else have this issue when archiving projects?

“Long Path Tool” is very helpful for this error !
You can use to solve this problem

Long Path Tool help me a lot when i have an issue like file deleting or renaming the file. Also good to use if file name and file extension is too long.

I used to have similar problems too, but after using “long path tool” everything was solved. Try this software and you would be glad you did.
