I am an animator. I work in motion mostly. Exporting as tagas and re-importing into motion several times to get the right animation effects. I export as tagas to keep the best resolution. I have to do this several times because of rendering speed. (4 core 4gb ram still not good enough… mostly motion crashes at 1 frame per min rendering.

To get these in FCP studio 6, I have to import as folder (tga sequence) I then nest or make a seperate sequence, as the image sequence is not a continuous sequence and only comes back as still images.

But then I cant make subtle changes in timing because the speed (variable) is greyed out. I don’t want to loose more definition outputting to Qtime and back. Any ideas. I dont really mind what format FCP is set to as long as it is High def. 1440 x 1080 1:33 ratio. No interlacing preferably.

Nest the sequence and apply the speed changes in the nested sequence.
