  Clip Names on a P2 Card

  Hello –

  I work for FOX in Detroit. Our station went from Sony’s SX cameras to the newer Panasonic AJ HPX2000P with P2 cards. The issue is when the producers use the free P2 viewer software from Panasonic on a PC, to change the clip names, the metadata on the cards does change on the PC end of it. BUT when we bring the P2 cards back to FCS , the cards revert back to the number system (00012BC) or what ever number & letters.

  Anyone else on a MAC platform using P2’s run into this issue?
  It takes just 35 minutes to import 4, 8 gig P2 cards & another 2 hours to rename them.
  A WASTE of TIME!!!

  FCP for some reason ignores most of the metadata that is on the P2 files…including the nice names you give the clips using scene files. To retain these names you need to import with either the Panasonic P2CMS software, or HD Log Pro, or P2 Log.
